Conference and demonstration:
From the magic lantern to the first moving images, what motivated the first researchers? How did rapid scientific progress contribute to the evolution of what would become the art and industry of cinema? How important were the exceptional personalities who laid the foundations of what we know today as cinema? These are the major questions addressed in this conference. Abundantly illustrated by the exhibition of exceptional devices and pieces from Martin Châteauvert's personal collection, this presentation allows us to understand the process and the fascinating history of the seventh art.
Workshops:
Related to the history of cinema, the workshops are both fun and educational activities. They are aimed at an audience of all ages. Tell a story with the magic lantern, Flipbook! Optical toys: kaleidoscopes and zoetropes.
Traveling exhibition:
Cinemartin offers the possibility of organizing an exhibition on the history of cinema based on Martin Chateauvert's personal collection containing more than 400 devices and objects from before cinema to today.
